—Hello, Everyone!

Mark your calendars—the CATESOL Annual Conference will be here before you know it, and it is a jam-packed event you won’t want to miss! This year’s theme is “2020 Vision: Embracing the Past—Planning the Future,” representing our constant goal to determine how we can better serve ESL students, teachers, and staff, while also recognizing contributions that have been made to the field in the past. The conference will take place November 17-20 in San Diego, California.

art for 2016 conference storyThis four-day conference will be held at the Town and Country Resort & Convention Center in the historic Mission Valley area. The resort features a variety of dining options, several pools, the Mediterranean-style Bella Tosca Day Spa, and is within walking distance to Fashion Valley Shopping Center. Not too far from the resort are golf courses and some of the best attractions in San Diego. Get the most out of the conference by staying at the beautiful Town and Country Resort for the low, single-occupancy rate of $166 per night.

The CATESOL 2016 Annual Conference will begin on a Thursday evening with the opening plenary and reception. You can network at the President’s Luncheon and networking dinners on Friday and at the Saturday Night Sizzle the following night. Grow professionally and learn about the latest developments in the field by attending any of the panels and sessions that will occur all day Friday and Saturday, or by attending one of the intensive, hands-on Sunday workshops, led by highly regarded professionals in the field. Sunday workshops are included in registration, so they are a wonderful opportunity!

The deadline to submit a proposal for a session or panel at the conference is July 8, and the form can be found on the CATESOL Annual Conference website. Save on registration fees by registering early: the Super-Saver Registration deadline is June 30, and if you miss that deadline, there is another chance to save by registering by the Early Bird deadline, August 31. The final deadline for preregistration is October 31.
