—Conference Chair Michelle Bagwell and the Steinbeck Chapter are collaborating to host the 2017 Northern Regional Conference 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 1, at Pacific Grove Middle School in Pacific Grove on the beautiful Monterey Peninsula. The keynote speaker is Elfrieda “Freddy” Hiebert (PhD, University of Wisconsin), who has a long career as a literacy educator. Featured subtopics are K-12, IEP, graduate student issues, community college, connecting standards to practice and the law, policy, Prop. 58, and DACA.
